Sadness, from a biological point of view, is grief: mourning for the loss of something or someone. That something or someone may be no more substantial than an expectation or a hope (...)

If you listen to sadness, it will tell you what you wanted that you lost or haven't gotten.

Your feelings are important for what they teach you about yourself -- but not for what they motivate you to want.
